Web Summit attendees: the audience sample
What is shown. When an answer matches 10 or more attendees, it includes a sample of up to 25 of them, and never more than half of the people the answer matches. Each row shows only their role, company, country and whether we can reach them on LinkedIn and the Web Summit app (yes or no); a country with fewer than 10 attendees is shown as Other. We never show names, email addresses, phone numbers or profile links.
Languages. A question can ask for people who speak a language. For counts we match the languages attendees stated and languages we infer as likely; when a question asks for a language, the sample only shows people who stated that language themselves. We never show whether a language was stated or inferred.
To whom. Only signed-in users of rightguests.com, in the web chat and over MCP. Visitors who are not signed in never see it. The same question shows the same rows, there is no paging or export, and each account and each internet address sees at most 500 rows a day.
Why. To show an organiser who is thinking of paying for outreach that the audience is real. Our legal basis is legitimate interest, balanced by showing no names or contact details, a small capped sample, no export and the right to object below.
Retention. The sample is read from a snapshot of our attendee data refreshed hourly. We keep the current snapshot and the previous version until the next one is published, then delete the older one. Rows are not stored with your account or in our logs.
How to object. If you are a Web Summit attendee and do not want to appear in the sample, email privacy@rightguests.com. We mark you as excluded and you leave the sample from the next hourly refresh. You may still be counted in totals, which never show fewer than 10 people.
